Welcome to TMHS CTE Pathways

The Tourtellotte Memorial High School CTE pathways are a coherent sequence of academic and elective courses that start high school students on a path that can lead to an associate degree, a bachelor’s degree, and/or an industry- recognized certificate or license.

Focus on Specific Career Opportunities

Our career pathways are intended to help students focus on specific career opportunities that meet their interests, providing a purpose to strive and succeed.

CTE Credential on Diploma

Students who complete a career pathway will earn a credential from Tourtellotte on their diploma and transcript signifying their success in the rigorous coursework associated with the pathway. College admission officers and potential employers will know of the student’s interest and commitment to the field, giving them a competitive advantage over others applying for similar opportunities.

Opportunity to Earn Both High School and College Credits

Many of our career pathways have courses that offer the opportunity to earn college credits. The courses (marked with an *) are approved college credit courses. Some of these courses offer free college credits that are articulated through the College Board (AP), CT State Community College: Quinebaug Valley (QVCC), and The University of Connecticut Early College Experience (ECE). UConn ECE courses are college-level courses that are taught at TMHS by our teachers who are recognized as adjunct professors by the university. College Credits may also transfer to any Connecticut Community College and the Connecticut State Universities (Eastern, Central, Southern, Western) as well as some out-of-state universities and colleges.

Welding Program Ribbon Cutting

(Above) On the House Floor, Rep. Joe Courtney highlighted the tremendous momentum taking place across the submarine industrial base fueled by Congressional investments. His remarks follow several visits Courtney made to submarine supply companies in Connecticut over the last month and the opening of Tourtellotte Memorial High School’s expanded welding lab.
